The Great Lakes are the largest set of freshwater lakes in the world and, consequently, comprise a unique environment. Like the oceans, they are shaped by intense storms that can generate large waves. Unlike the oceans, however, the lakes are subject to seasonal and long-term water level fluctuations. The shores and lakebeds are often composed of glacial tills with their own unique characteristics.
Coldwater has extensive experience in many of the special issues that affect this area, with projects ranging from several large-scale, multi-year, integrated studies right down to the protection of individual properties.
